Am I eligible?

Although we encourage all university students to apply, eligibility can differ from university to university. The surest way to find out whether you are eligible is to apply for a program, and complete the online application form. From there we can review your application and advise your based on your particular circumstances.

How does YMCA Global Study support students with disabilities to study abroad?

YMCA Global Study aims to provide study abroad programs that are accessible to all students and work with participants on an individual basis to ensure they are supported throughout the entire study abroad process. How do I fund my trip?

There are many options for funding your trip –  we recommend looking into government funding programs for overseas travel. You may be eligible for a range of different funding opportunities including OS-HELP.

What support does YMCA Global Study offer?

YMCA Global Study aims to support you all the way through your programs, including your return and future career endeavours. We set up your program with your host university and provide you with information on how to fund your trip – including how to apply for government funding.

We also provide an onboarding process consisting of pre-departure webinars, information packages for all your needs before and during your program, access to the YMCA Global study network where you can meet the people you will be studying with, and – last but not least – we provide access to volunteer and career opportunities when you return.

How do I apply?

Applying for a program is fairly straightforward – To begin your application, click here and complete our online application form.

How much should I save before I leave?

This usually varies from program to program, however, we recommend making a list of costs covered by your program; (food, accommodation etc.) and tailoring your budget according to that.

Keep in mind that any travel plans you may have after or prior to your program should be included in your budget.

What is included with my study abroad program?

All YMCA Global Study programs include the following at a minimum:

  • Accommodation
  • Tuition
  • Cultural experiences/activities

Are there language requirements?

All courses are taught in English unless of course, they are a language course in which case they are taught in both the language you are learning.

Are there age restrictions to the program?

To participate in any of our programs you must be over 18, however, you can apply as a 17 year old you will be 18 prior to the commencement of their chosen course (your forms will need to be co-signed by a parent/guardian while you are still under 18).
