Lancaster is a coastal town located in the north-west of England. It is a historic, officially founded in 1193, Lancaster has been mentioned as far back as Norman and Roman times as a centre for commerce, culture and education. The city is located close to the Lakes District and Forrest of Bowman that offers amazing scenery and tracks for hiking, bike riding, horse riding as well as some great fishing spots. Its central location makes it very easy to visit other cities in the UK, Manchester and Liverpool are both only 1 hour by train, while London and Edinburgh can be reached in two and a half hours.
Lancaster University was founded in 1961 and now is home to more than 12,000 full-time students and it’s campus occupies a beautiful 560-acre parkland site at Bailrigg, just three miles from the City Centre.
