Supporting Students with Disabilities

YMCA Global Study aims to provide study abroad programs that are accessible who are living with a disability and are committed to ensuring that you will feel empowered and supported throughout the entire study abroad process.

Students who need additional support to study abroad can begin their application to our programs the same way as any other student (Click here to start your application).

How do we support you?

We invite students to disclose any allergies, illness or disability in our initial application form. After you have submitted your application form you will then be invited to book a participant interview. This is where you will have an opportunity to let us know how we can best support you.

Some things to consider discussing the YMCA Global Study team during your participant interview are:

  • Accessibility
  • Personal Care
  • Transport
  • Allergies and Dietary Requirements
  • Medication

After your participant interview is complete, we will provide with everything you need to continue your application to study abroad. While your busy finalising your application, we will then work with your host university to ensure all your needs will be met while you are overseas studying. You will also have a chance to have a chat to your host university before you arrive about the arrangements they have made for you.

Let us know if you have any questions

If you have any questions regarding accessibility, please feel free to contact us via email or Facebook chat at any time.
